When Words Transform
Finding the Language to Unlock the Reality We Want to Live In
I’m curious. Do you find that the most meaningful and profound experiences of your life are often extremely difficult to convey to others?
One of the greatest challenges I face on a regular basis is finding the right language to describe the things that cannot really be described with words.
It’s a conundrum.
If wordsmithing was a line item on our budget for building KAVANÂ, it would be significant. As a team we have spent - quite literally - hundreds of hours talking about what language to use, and what to avoid.
So what are we trying to describe? Well, really we are talking about a “state of being” that comes on the other side of profound personal transformation. Which is at the core of what we are ALL IN on.
(And I’ll even have to contradict what was just said in the above paragraph, because there never truly is arrival at “the other side.” In fact, the idea of a finish line is a fallacy in and of itself).
That said, there are definitive shifts in perspective that are lasting, and inform our lives on the macro level. So I’ll stick to this language of “the other side” and then immediately clarify that this “other side” cannot be limited to one static thing. It’s not everlasting happiness. It’s not the thrill of accomplishing larger-than-life goals (though that can definitely be part of it). It’s not about shedding every fear and worry and floating through life on the wings of a prayer forevermore.
It’s not that simple.
In fact, the state we are after (both for ourselves and all the people we serve through our offerings), is innately multi-layered and in a constant state of evolution.
So to describe this state as a greater sense of harmony, connection, balance, alignment, and purpose would be correct, and also would miss so much of the other intricacies and complexities of our dynamic human experience.
In some ways, those words almost feel like they cheapen the profundity of their actual meaning, when it’s experienced viscerally in every pore of the body and soul.
So why am I sharing this? Well, because this lifelong exploration around language has led us to this moment in time where we feel like we’ve found the words to more accurately describe what we are talking about.
Soon, we will be introducing our findings to you, through our new podcast and storytelling series Integrated Intelligence that is launching next month on YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
In my next post I’ll share more about what Integrated Intelligence is, but before we do, let’s zoom out for a moment and look at some stats:
The global wellness economy grew from $4.9 trillion in 2019 to $5.6 trillion in 2022, and it is projected to reach $8.5 trillion by 2027, which suggests a long-term trend towards integrating wellness into everyday life.
Despite the pandemic's economic disruptions, the wellness economy not only rebounded but also surpassed pre-pandemic levels, reflecting its resilience and consumer prioritization of health.
Simultaneously…
The perception that the world is falling apart is a global phenomenon. According to the World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report 2024, a significant portion of the global population is pessimistic about the future. The report highlights that close to 60% of respondents foresee some level of instability or moderate risk of global catastrophes over the next decade, with 30% expecting even more turbulent conditions.
According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, 52% of Americans feel more concerned than excited about AI, reflecting a growing unease about its impact. Around 17% of the general public believes it is "very likely" that AI could cause human extinction in the future, with an additional 27% considering it "somewhat likely"
At first glance, seeing the rise of wellness and spirituality juxtaposed with the disillusionment of a species may seem counter-intuitive.
But it actually makes sense, right? The more disillusioned we become we the old way of operating, the more willing and ready we become for something new to be born.
The less meaning we see in the external world, the more willing we are to search for it within.
AI is forcing us to look at ourselves in a way that is deeply uncomfortable, yet also - as a direct byproduct - pointing us back toward the pursuit of spiritual connection and human values.
When everyone’s comfortable, it’s a lot easier to not question the status quo. But that privilege isn’t even reserved for the highly privileged anymore.
Everyone is affected by these turbulent times.
So what does this have to do with me and our team struggling to find the right words to express the benefits of what we do?
Well, everything.
Because what we are offering to the world is a place and a path to finding meaning. And that meaning is only found beyond the confines of the analytical mind, deep in the crevices of our hearts and spirits.
And that path must be explainable in words that anyone can understand.
The language and framework of Integrated Intelligence allows us to bring the many seemingly separate parts of ourselves back into wholeness. From that internal state of wholeness, we tap into a whole wellspring of intelligence systems that I believe are crucial ingredients for our collective human family to make it to the “other side” of this collective crisis moment.
Words can seem so simple and feeble in the face of such insurmountable social and environmental challenges.
Yet language and stories form the building blocks of the realities we live inside of.
I like to think of each word as a key code that can give us access to a new perspective, belief system, and approach to life.
Just like we need the exact digits of a combination code lock in order for it to open, we are now at a moment where we get to choose the exact words that will unlock the hearts and minds of human beings to reconnect to the essential.
Integrated Intelligence is our way of telling a new story for what it means to be alive today.
I can’t wait to share more with you soon.
In gratitude,
Azrya

love integrated intelligence. beautiful smithing!
Thank you. Words are spells and we MUST choose them consciously and intentionally. I consider myself pretty good with this. The first thing i thought of when i first started reading this was, that i have the words, I just don't have people or a community, who are ready to or want to hear them. I hope i can find that.
Thank you for this!
